Making Los Angeles a More Livable City

Los Angeles is moving full-speed to build walkable communities, encourage transit ridership, and promote tourism on “great streets” within our transforming neighborhoods. This exciting momentum to strengthen the City’s urban assets and leverage our physical infrastructure to build stronger communities, however, has accompanied years of disinvestments in core quality of life services and safety-measures needed to enable clean, safe communities. Acknowledging these challenges, livability is embedded in four of Mayor Garcetti’s Back-To-Basics outcome goals.
