Letter to the Editor – The Costs of California’s One Party State
California has the fifth-largest economy in the world, with an annual GDP of nearly $3 trillion, and is home to 12% of the nation’s population. It is home to the world’s greatest entrepreneurs who live with a mind-set that prepares for the future. A future that advances cutting-edge engineering and technical innovation like rockets and medical research, creates world-class entertainment, develops new technologies and biotech medical treatments and leads in the growing global economy of trade and tourism.
As to the state’s many complex public-policy challenges, like affordable housing, transportation congestion and inequality, to name a few, we need the public and private sectors to work together and combine their resources, to address these issues head on. That doesn’t require partisanship, it requires leadership.
